This replacement forms part of ongoing flood recovery works across the region and is funded under Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements. The current causeway will be replaced in two sections:<ul><li>A concrete bridge (south side to the middle of the crossing) to allow water to flow underneath.</li><li>A concrete causeway (north side) to act as an overflow area during times of high water flow.</li></ul><strong>Location of activity</strong>Northern end of Black Creek Road, north west of Kew<strong>When is the activity scheduled to occur</strong><ul><li>The works are planned to commence 3 March (weather permitting) and expected to take approx. 6 months to complete.</li><li>Standard work hours will be 7:00am–5:00pm Monday to Friday, and 8:00am–1:00pm Saturdays (infrequently, if required).</li></ul><strong>How will traffic be affected</strong><ul><li>Traffic control will be on site throughout the works and will implement short stoppages to traffic if required.</li><li>Speed reduction will be in place (40km/h) at the work zone.</li><li>Directly affected individual property owners have been contacted by Council staff prior to commencement of works.</li><li>Motorists are encouraged to allow additional travel time and exercise caution when travelling along Black Creek Road as there may be increased heavy vehicle traffic.</li></ul>Black Creek Road, Northern end, North West of Kew24 Feb 2026 – 14 Aug 2026
