Follow directions on site. <strong>Bridge/Causeway Construction - Black Creek Road, Black Creek</strong><strong>What are the works</strong>Council is replacing Black Creek Causeway, which was severely damaged during the March 2021 and 2022 flood events. This replacement forms part of ongoing flood recovery works across the region and is funded under Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements. The current causeway will be replaced in two sections:<ul><li>A concrete bridge (south side to the middle of the crossing) to allow water to flow underneath.</li><li>A concrete causeway (north side) to act as an overflow area during times of high water flow.</li></ul><strong>Location of activity</strong>Northern end of Black Creek Road, north west of Kew<strong>When is the activity scheduled to occur</strong><ul><li>The works are planned to commence 3 March (weather permitting) and expected to take approx. 6 months to complete.</li><li>Standard work hours will be 7:00am–5:00pm Monday to Friday, and 8:00am–1:00pm Saturdays (infrequently, if required).</li></ul><strong>How will traffic be affected</strong><ul><li>Traffic control will be on site throughout the works and will implement short stoppages to traffic if required.</li><li>Speed reduction will be in place (40km/h) at the work zone.</li><li>Directly affected individual property owners have been contacted by Council staff prior to commencement of works.</li><li>Motorists are encouraged to allow additional travel time and exercise caution when travelling along Black Creek Road as there may be increased heavy vehicle traffic.</li></ul>Black Creek Road, Northern end, North West of Kew24 Feb 2026 – 14 Aug 2026
