Childers is a regional smaller community in Bundaberg Council, oriented around local life rather than the metro orbit of Brisbane. Day-to-day life leans on nearby towns and local hubs rather than the metro area. An older demographic makes it especially popular with retirees, with multiple generations sharing the same neighbourhood.
Food and coffee punch above the usual for regional towns, giving the suburb a lived-in social scene. Outdoor life is easy here, with generous parks and room for kids, dogs and weekend strolls.
