Suburb profile
North Shore is a coastal smaller community where beach life and relaxed outdoor living shape the local character. Sea and sand are the main draw, with neighbouring coastal communities easy to explore on a free afternoon. There is a lightness to the air here, with the coast never far from mind.
Long-term locals and family households define much of the community, with plenty of young families in the mix. Reasonable public transport access helps with commuting and getting around locally. Housing remains accessible compared with many parts of the state.
A trickle of new development is refreshing selected pockets without changing the overall feel.
On the desirability index, the suburb sits below average overall, with local dining and lifestyle amenities and parks and green space the main drags compared with similar coastal suburbs. Limited access to some essential local services also trimmed the result.
