Well away from Brisbane, Coolangatta is a coastal mid-sized suburb built around sand, sea and space. An older demographic makes it especially popular with retirees, with a healthy mix of renters and owner-occupiers. A genuine café and dining culture runs through the area, denser than many peers of a similar size.
Parks and open space are a real strength relative to many coastal suburbs, easy for walks, sport and weekend downtime. Daily life works well on foot, with buses also serving the suburb. Homes cost more here than in most comparable suburbs.
